History: | It appears that Father Francesco Garces called this feature 'Cerro de Taca' in 1775 using the Pima Indian name 'Tcacca' or 'Taceo' for the feature. It became an important landmark as there was water nearby in shallow pools. The peak was also called 'Picacho del Tucson ' (AZ-T101). |
